Well if the online rumors about Eustace and the Venkys wanting 750k compo are correct then that stacks up with the lack of transfer activity.

I've had a thought.

If we had signed the 2 additional players we wanted, we may not have been able to afford to sack Warne.

Would help explain the timing.
